About The Position

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs specific to the NPI space. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. Roles and Responsibilities Manage material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with NPI production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements while maintaining standardization across US Power businesses (demand loading, PFEP, NPI to production material transfers, etc). Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of your team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions. A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in material planning and/or production planning/scheduling)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or 3 years in materials planning organizations
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.
  • Ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP (Oracle R12 preferred) and understanding of business KPI's around cost, inventory, and cash flow.
  • Ability to lead a team and influence others; strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and execute schedule to achieve milestones/objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Focus drive to work through problems and implement a sustainable solution.
