About The Position

Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the Lead Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms to patients in our flagship location El Nuevo San Juan in the Bronx. This role involves producing high-quality films, performing quality control functions, and acting as a lead for training other Mammography Technologists. The position requires a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, as well as accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. The Lead Mammography Technologist serves as a primary liaison between patients, Radiologists, and the support team, and is expected to participate in continuing education.

Requirements

ARRT Mammography Certification
NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.

Responsibilities

Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered.
Completes appropriate documentation.
Acts as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs.
Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail.
Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
