About The Position

The Lead Maintenance Technician serves in a key position for the parish. The position is responsible for maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. Assists with plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs. This position performs these efforts with technical expertise within the framework of shared ministry in Catholic values by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Responsibilities

  • Ensures the parish facilities are well maintained by maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds. This may include some custodial services.
  • Assist with planning and scheduleing facility modifications, including cost estimates. Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality with documents and information.
  • Assist with inspecting construction and installation progress.
  • Follow planned maintenance programs for all parish equipment.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, etc.
  • Assist Business Manager with oversight of cleaning and maintenance of Facility. Assists as needed.
  • Attends staff meetings, diocesan meetings and other meetings as appropriate and requested.
  • Champions safety of staff and visitors and enforces safety regulations.
  • Ensure good stewardship of adequate parish financial reserves.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for this job
  • Performs parish facility operations in accordance with the parish and Catholic Church’s missions.
  • Understands Catholic social teaching and applies it to parish policies and practices.
  • Participates in parish and Diocesan religious programs as directed.
  • Maintains a neat and safe work area.
  • The successful candidate may have to pass competencies for this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
