About The Position

Northland is looking for an experienced, pro-active Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise the maintenance team and oversee work orders and repairs at the Glenn Perimeter community, a 320-unit property in Atlanta, GA. This role involves prioritizing and scheduling projects and staff for timely completion. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing various maintenance service requests and work orders, including HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping. They will also be responsible for efficiently turning vacant apartments for move-in, while adhering to safety and budget guidelines. A high level of professionalism and customer service is expected when interacting with residents, vendors, and guests. Maintenance team members are required to handle after-hours emergency calls and be on-call, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time and climb, bend, and squat.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing a team is strongly preferred.
  • May be required to operate a golf cart on the property.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance team.
  • Oversee work orders and repairs at the community.
  • Prioritize and schedule projects and staff for timely completion.
  • Complete maintenance service requests and work orders including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping items.
  • Complete work orders and turn vacant apartments for move in, in a timely an efficient manner.
  • Work safely and keep an eye on budget.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service to residents, vendors, and guests.
  • Handle after-hours emergency calls and be on-call, as needed, including nights and weekends.
