At KIK, our Maintenance team keeps our operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably - and as a Maintenance Lead, you'll be at the center of it all. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine your technical expertise with your ability to guide and mentor others. You'll lead daily maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, coach fellow technicians, and partner with Production and Engineering to improve equipment reliability and maximize plant performance. This role is based onsite at our Auburndale, FL facility and supports 1st Shift, Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with weekend overtime and on-call support as needed. The pay range for this position is $38.00-$42.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience serving as a Maintenance Lead, Lead Technician, Team Lead, or informal technical leader required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment required
  • Experience working with motors, VFDs, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
  • Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills with the ability to mentor and develop other technicians
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or off-shift hours as needed to support plant operations

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred
  • programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms preferred
  • MaintainX preferred
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, TPM, continuous improvement, or reliability initiatives preferred
  • Forklift, aerial lift, confined space, or other maintenance-related certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities while working alongside the maintenance team
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders and assign tasks based on production needs and equipment criticality
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Serve as the technical resource for complex equipment failures and root cause analysis
  • Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and commissioning of new production equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, PLC logic, and equipment manuals
  • Coach and mentor maintenance technicians by sharing technical knowledge and best practices
  • Verify maintenance work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company standards
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and increase productivity
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders, maintenance records, spare parts usage, and equipment documentation within the CMMS
  • Assist with inventory management of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies
  • Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and reliability initiatives
  • Promote and maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and food/product quality requirements
  • Serve as the maintenance point of contact during assigned shifts and assist with emergency equipment repairs as needed
