About The Position

This role is accountable to troubleshoot, repair, install, optimize and conduct preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in any GOJO facility, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments. They visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment, listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction, and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines. The role involves dismantling defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired parts, cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, and installing and repairing electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Additionally, the role includes laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairing and replacing gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic also repairs and maintains physical structures and grounds, and may install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications. They may also install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers, set up and operate machine tools, and operate cutting torch or welding equipment. Familiarity with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste is required, ensuring hazardous wastes, universal wastes, and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, is in good condition, and is closed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.

  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repair and maintain physical structures and grounds.
  • Install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Respond to emergencies involving hazardous waste, ensuring proper handling and labeling of hazardous wastes, universal wastes, and used oil.
