About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. These openings require standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, bending, stretching, reaching, working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions. Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high pressure hose. Must be able to read and complete required logs. Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. May be required to operate frontend loader, manlift, or forklift and will be required to obtain certification to do so. This position requires documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience with a single employer in the past 12 months.
  • Minimum waiting period of 180 days since last employment with Tyson Foods.
  • Will not consider team members who have worked 3 or more times at Tyson Foods.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Shoveling.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
  • Bending, stretching, reaching.
  • Working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
