About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by insuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to insure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

Standing for long periods of time.
Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Shoveling.
Climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
Bending, stretching, reaching.
Working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
Must be able to use basic hand tools.
Must have at least 6 months of experience with a single employer in the past 12 months.
Minimum waiting period of 180 days since last employment with Tyson Foods.
Will not consider team members who have worked 3 or more times at Tyson Foods.
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility.
Obtain certification to operate frontend loader, manlift, or forklift.

Responsibilities

Assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily department responsibilities.
Ensure Supervisor's instructions are communicated to team members and carried out timely and correctly.
Monitor all equipment to ensure proper working condition.
Notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance.
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.
Perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high-pressure hose.
Read and complete required logs.
Communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio.
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
May be required to operate frontend loader, manlift, or forklift and will be required to obtain certification to do so.
