About The Position

Perky Beans Coffee & PB Cafe in Leander, TX is looking to hire a full-time Lead Line Cook, who is able to work until 9 PM, to help with the preparation of delicious dishes and to mentor kitchen staff. Perky Beans Coffee is our complete coffeehouse with a drive-thru, offering a variety of delicious beverages as well as quick bites. Located right next door is PB Cafe, where our customers can sit down and order all the breakfast classics as well as items from our tasty lunch menu. Our mission is to serve delectable recipes with quality ingredients that keep our customers coming back. We are passionate about food and customer service. Additionally, we strive to be a partner with the community and support many local schools and non-profits in the Leander and Liberty Hill areas. Our team is family to us. Requirements

  • High school diploma OR equivalent
  • Experience cooking from scratch in a fast-paced, casual dining restaurant
  • 6+ months of kitchen leadership experience in a professional setting
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing throughout the shift and lifting up to 35 pounds
  • Open availability seven days a week
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to keep up in the fast-paced food service industry
  • Hardworking and energetic
  • Ability to communicate well with other members of the kitchen staff

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support for the restaurant while offering guidance to other members of the kitchen staff.
  • Craft meals according to special recipes, plating and garnishing dishes while performing portion control to minimize waste.
  • Ensure food is prepared quickly while meeting high standards of quality.
  • Train new team members and supervise their work.
  • Follow all food safety procedures and ensure cooking stations are stocked.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving product shipments.
  • Rotate food items to ensure freshness.
  • Create fantastic meals and specials for guests.
