About The Position

Responsible for cleaning performance at an agency site. This role involves supervising as needed, developing task schedules, maintaining cleaning standards, and performing various cleaning duties. The Lead Janitor will also monitor equipment, address work quality issues, and provide leadership by example. Communication with supervisors and adherence to agency policies and regulations are essential.

Requirements

Associates Degree or High School Diploma.
One-year relevant work experience preferred.
Knowledgeable and capable of performing cleaning and disinfecting.
Willing to be an acting Supervisor as needed.
Willing to train custodial staff and/or people with disabilities.
A valid New York State Driver’s License is required.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Must provide own transportation to and from worksite.
Regularly required to talk or hear.

Responsibilities

Supervise as needed and develop task schedules for workers engaged in custodial services.
Maintain cleaning standards following the site scope of work.
Restroom cleaning/trash removal/sweep/wet mop/dust/vacuum as assigned.
Use high and low speed maintenance equipment and carpet cleaning as assigned.
Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor.
Address work quality issues and other concerns in an effective, timely manner.
Provide leadership by example i.e. being punctual and exceptional attendance records.
Communicate with the Supervisor, QC Manager and Contracts Manager on a regular basis.
Adhere to all Agency Policies and Procedures.
Support the goals, objectives, and philosophy of the agency.
Comply with CQL, Justice Center, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
