About The Position

The Lead Janitor performs administrative tasks, trains custodial team members, and oversees training activities. The position serves as a resource on cleaning methods, materials, and heavy commercial cleaning equipment. The role is located at J&J, 700 Orthopaedic Drive, Warsaw, Indiana. No experience is necessary; training is provided. The fixed pay rate is $18.25 per hour.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and hands-on training on customer service, safety, compliance, and company policies.
• Provide one-on-one training as needed.
• Update and provide training on the use of janitorial equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and chemicals, including chemical safety.
• Copy and revise training materials as needed and perform administrative tasks as requested.
• Provide feedback on new associates during their orientation period and review trainee records to ensure compliance.
• Provide recommendations to the training coordinator regarding disciplinary action as appropriate.
• Conduct reviews, including monthly safety performance reviews, to ensure compliance with OSHA, Risk Management, and applicable company, federal, state, and local requirements and policies.
• Conduct building walkthrough inspections as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
