About The Position

SSC Services for Education is hiring a full-time Janitor Lead at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. The role performs administrative tasks, trains custodial team members, and oversees training activities. The Janitor Lead serves as a resource on cleaning methods, materials, and heavy commercial cleaning equipment. The schedule and hours may vary, with multiple shifts available; details are provided during the interview. Openings at other locations within the school district may also be available. The position includes conducting classroom, hands-on, and one-on-one training; updating training materials; and carrying out administrative tasks. The Janitor Lead also reviews trainee records, provides feedback on new associates, recommends disciplinary action when appropriate, reviews safety performance and compliance, and conducts building inspections. Prior experience managing employees and facilities is required. The fixed pay rate is $17.40 per hour.

Responsibilities

Conduct classroom and hands-on training on customer service, safety, compliance, and company policies.
Provide one-on-one training as needed.
Update and provide training on janitorial equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and chemical use and safety.
Copy and revise training materials as needed and perform administrative tasks as requested.
Provide feedback on new associates during their orientation period and review trainee records for compliance.
Make recommendations to the training coordinator regarding disciplinary action when appropriate.
Conduct reviews, including monthly safety performance reviews, to ensure compliance with OSHA, Risk Management, and applicable company, federal, state, and local requirements and policies.
Conduct building walk-through inspections as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
