About The Position

As a Lead Inventory Control, you will be performing the following tasks: Give direction to all hourly employees in the department. Organize/Prioritize daily workflow to meet delivery dates. Mentor/Facilitate Safety Squad/Safety Program Activities. Coordinate inventory functions, such as fulfilling kit requests. Coordinate receiving functions, such as checking material and receiving into inventory. Coordinate shipping functions, such as packing shipments and creating shipping documents. Hours 5:30AM-4PM M-T with OT available Support the leadership of a group of Material Handlers to achieve timely receipts, stocking and record keeping of new and existing materials Ensure Safety practices are maintained Coordinate efficient work schedules with other Inventory Control Leads and key Inventory Control personnel. Coordinate and expedite internal processes within the dept. to achieve kitting deadlines and other need by dates for internal and external customers. Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel throughout the organization. Effectively manage resources to achieve all daily tasks. Lead all Materials Handlers in the absence of other Inventory Control Leads (weekends, overtime, vacation, etc.). Properly pack and prepare materials and equipment for internal and external customers. Deliver material from inventory control area to the manufacturing area by physically moving parts by hand, forklift and other means securing loads when required. When needed, packaging, marking and labeling of all material for shipment according to Company procedures. When needed, load/unload material on trucks by physically moving parts, by hand, forklift, and crane securing loads when required. Properly document all incoming and outgoing paperwork. Load/unload material on trucks by physically moving parts, by hand, forklift and other means securing loads when required. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Sign off on the Inspection checklist. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Oracle Transactions as needed Additional tasks per supervisor request.

Requirements

  • Work independently or as a part of a small team, and perform required tasks with little direct supervision.
  • Use math, reading, and writing skills to perform job function.
  • Work up to 12 hour shifts upon request.
  • Occasionally work a 6th day (Saturday) and 7th day (Sunday) during normal shift.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Follow company operating procedures, safety rules, and ISO requirements.
  • Stand and walk on concrete floor frequently for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
  • Good Safety record.
  • Lift objects of up to 50 pounds frequently for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
  • Bend and stoop frequently for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
  • Read a mechanical part or assembly drawing.
  • Read and use a linear tape measure.
  • Read and use a scale.
  • Able to speak, read and write in English.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in Inventory Control.
  • Previous experience in an Industrial or Warehouse setting.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Good product knowledge.
  • Detail and results-oriented, excellent accuracy and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to solve problems and prevent conflicts.
  • Forklift and other provided machine certifications are required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality System, Oracle Applications and Inventory Management.
  • Able to read a mechanical part or assembly drawing.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment.
  • Stable and current work history; demonstrating the ability to stay at a job for more than 12 months is desirable.
