The Sensing Engineering team at Q-CTRL transforms quantum research into deployable technologies that address real-world problems. They design, build, and field-validate an array of quantum sensors that support key products, including Ironestone Opal for GPS-denied navigation. A background in quantum is not required; strong engineering fundamentals, a product mindset, and a drive to solve hard engineering problems are valued. Q-CTRL is seeking a Lead Integration Engineer to establish and lead the Integration Engineering team within the Sensing division based in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves defining the integration function in the development of new quantum sensor prototypes and products, contributing to efforts to deliver software-ruggedised quantum gravimeters, accelerometers, and magnetometers for GPS-denied navigation applications. The Lead Integration Engineer will own the engineering strategy and implementation for Q-CTRL’s quantum navigation products, ensuring complex hardware and software subsystems operate together. This includes defining engineering standards, processes, and documentation for scalable development and meeting performance and reliability targets. This is a hands-on technical and people leadership role encompassing planning, execution, oversight, and team mentorship. The role involves working closely with engineers and scientists to manage integration of subsystems across electronics, optics, mechanics, and software, and validating complete systems in both lab and field environments. The ideal candidate is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience leading in relevant environments, such as aerospace or other mission-critical industries, and a passion for building technology that delivers real-world capability.
