Lead Instructor
About The Position
Mad Science is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Lead Instructors. In this role, you will lead children through exciting, hands-on science programs, inspiring the next generation of scientists. You will conduct demonstrations, facilitate activities, and help children create projects that illustrate scientific principles. The position involves traveling to various locations such as daycares, preschools, and schools. When not teaching, you will contribute to the Operations team by maintaining client relationships, handling inquiries, assisting with communications, and managing equipment and supplies. This is a year-round, stable, long-term employment opportunity.
Requirements
- Some experience working with groups of elementary age (5-12) children (such as teacher, teachers assistant, instructor or camp counselor).
- Must be available at least four days during the week and able to work at least twice a month on daytime programs on the weekends.
- Must have a reliable car and valid driver's license.
- All employees are required to undergo a criminal background check.
- Have a fun & outgoing personality.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Able to lift equipment which can sometimes weigh up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Lead students through inquiry-based discovery methods.
- Conduct instructor demonstrations and facilitate hands-on activities.
- Help children create slime and other polymers.
- Inspire children through innovative science activities.
- Travel to various locations to teach classes and programs.
- Maintain relationships with clients and update contact databases.
- Handle incoming inquiries for programming.
- Create new business opportunities through outbound calling and emailing.
- Assist with client communications, including booking confirmations, invoices, and follow-up surveys.
- Help maintain equipment and supplies for instructors.
