About The Position

Mad Science is seeking passionate individuals to join their team as Lead Instructors. This role involves delivering fun, hands-on science programs to elementary-aged children through after-school programs, birthday parties, workshops, special events, and summer camps. The company has been inspiring children for over 30 years with unique, entertaining, and educational science experiences. As an instructor, you will lead children through inquiry-based discovery, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, using pre-set curriculum and supplies. The role also includes office duties as part of the Operations team, such as maintaining client relationships, handling inquiries, creating new business opportunities, assisting with client communications, and maintaining equipment and supplies. This is a year-round, stable, long-term employment opportunity.

Requirements

Some experience working with groups of elementary-aged (5-12) children (e.g., teacher, teacher's assistant, instructor, camp counselor).
Availability at least four days during the week.
Ability to work at least twice a month on daytime weekend programs.
Reliable car and valid driver's license.
Must undergo a criminal background check.
Fun & outgoing personality.
Reliable and dependable.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Lead students through inquiry-based discovery using instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and take-home projects.
Deliver high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on science classes.
Travel to various locations such as daycares, preschools, and schools to teach programs.
Maintain relationships with clients and update contact databases.
Handle incoming inquiries for programming.
Create new business opportunities through outbound calling and emailing.
Assist with client communications, including booking confirmations, invoices, follow-up surveys, and promotional materials.
Help maintain equipment and supplies for instructors.
