About The Position

The Lead Instructor for the Mission-Critical Data Center Electrical Craft Upskilling program is a field-based leadership role responsible for the quality, consistency, and operational execution of StrataSKILLS instructor-led training programs delivered at client project sites. This role manages and develops a team of Electrical Craft Instructors, serves as the primary operational contact for client program managers, and steps in as lead instructor when program delivery or quality requires it. This engagement covers three 3–4 week ILT courses delivered in cohorts of 8–12 journeyman-level electricians: Low Voltage Systems Terminations and Testing (26 hours), Low Voltage Systems Motor and Equipment Wiring (30 hours), and Medium Voltage Termination, Maintenance, and Inspection (28 hours). All delivery is aligned to NFPA 70 (NEC 2023), NFPA 70E (2024), OSHA 1910.269, and IEEE 1584. This is primarily a leadership and quality role. The Lead Instructor manages the program, alongside delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on field experience in commercial or industrial electrical work, with direct experience in LV systems (up to 1kV) and MV systems (1kV–34kV)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of cable termination, termination hardware, heat shrink and cold shrink systems, crimping, and control cabinet work
  • Proficiency with switchgear, motor control systems, VFDs, and load center wiring at a journeyman level or above
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, IEEE 1584, and NETA testing standards
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory, lead craft, or training role in an industrial or construction environment
  • Ability to lead and develop adult learners, including journeyman-level tradespeople with deep field experience
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-moving, client-facing jobsite environment
  • Ability to pass client site access, background, and safety requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • NCCER certification in Electrical or related trade
  • NFPA 70E Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification or equivalent
  • Experience working on large-scale EPC or industrial construction projects (Mission-Critical Data Center Client, Fluor, AECOM, or similar)
  • Familiarity with the client's quality standards, documentation practices, and site safety protocols
  • Prior Train-the-Trainer certification or instructional design experience
  • Experience with megger testing, HiPot testing, and other acceptance testing procedures for MV equipment

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise contract Electrical Craft Instructors across Mission-Critical Data Center Client program engagements
  • Conduct structured instructor observations with written feedback after each cohort delivery
  • Deliver instructor orientation and technical calibration before each cohort launch
  • Address performance gaps directly; escalate to the Senior Director when necessary
  • Maintain an instructor bench capable of covering LV and MV course tracks
  • Own day-to-day operational execution of Mission-Critical Data Center Client training programs at assigned project sites
  • Manage instructor scheduling, site logistics, materials readiness, and lab setup across cohorts
  • Monitor learner assessment results and practical evaluation outcomes to identify delivery gaps
  • Ensure all delivery aligns with StrataSKILLS-approved curriculum and client-specific standards built into the content
  • Enforce program SOPs for setup, delivery, documentation, and cohort closeout
  • Manage the structured pilot delivery (8–12 learners, four-week schedule) and lead the post-pilot refinement process
  • Step in as primary instructor during cohort launches, pilot delivery, coverage gaps, or quality-sensitive engagements
  • Demonstrate mastery of all three course tracks: LV Terminations & Testing, LV Motor & Equipment Wiring, and MV Termination/Maintenance/Inspection, to model expected delivery quality
  • Conduct practical skills assessments and provide structured feedback to learners on lab performance
  • Maintain accurate records of cohort rosters, attendance, assessment scores, and certificates of completion
  • Submit structured delivery reports to the Senior Director following each cohort
  • Document curriculum observations, lab sequencing issues, and equipment gaps for the Phase 4 refinement cycle
  • Ensure all client site access credentials, safety documentation, and instructor certifications remain current
