About The Position

The Lead Installer position is a leadership role that requires attention to detail to ensure the successful execution of all temporary wall projects are handled in accordance with company standards. Responsibilities include overseeing installers and crews based on safety policies and procedures (including required safety and PPE compliance), performing and preparing the installation and removal of all types of temporary walls per spec requirements while delivering excellent customer service. In addition, this role will also assist the branch manager with office functions such as contract generation, dispatching, scheduling and other functions at the branch. As a field employee, the Lead Installer is the face of the company and is required to maintain a sense of professionalism and focus on getting tasks completed in safe and timely manner, even while under pressure to meet tight deadlines and strict security requirements. This is a physically demanding job that is mostly in professional environments. Driving to and from job sites are also an essential function of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus 2 years of wall installation experience or related
  • Proven leadership abilities in leading different teams on assignments
  • Able to motivate others to “get the job done” even when managing a heavy workload and tight deadlines
  • Current driver’s license required and in good standing
  • Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete paperwork
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Knowledge of general tools and equipment (drills, power tools, forklifts, banding equipment, etc.)
  • Ability to physically handle (lift, carry, etc.) heavy wall panels (approx. 30-60 lbs.)
  • Must have own transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a fork-lift and a one-ton truck preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Supervise installers, train crews, and give feedback to branch manager and workers
  • Work with branch manager to learn office functions of the branch including Daily Safety Meetings, Power Up, daily vehicle and forklift inspections, contract review, management and creation, VDOS and dispatch, HOS, scheduling crews (Team up), pre delivery calls, service call scheduling and inventory control
  • Review P&L with manager each month and identify areas of improvement compared to budget
  • Perform the duties of branch manager while they are away
  • Plan, implement and manage tasks in accordance with priorities and goals
  • Manage and monitor team attendance and work
  • Safely set up and take down temporary walls and associated products at customer sites
  • Report to jobsite and meet with client to review job details
  • Lead team to prepare area for temporary walls using hand and power tools as required
  • Inspect job upon completion as well as complete operational paperwork (job reports, truck inventory logs, site checklists, etc.) as required
  • Ensure that the truck has all of the equipment and wall materials needed for the day of work and that the load is secure per company and DOT standards
  • Keep the worksite clean of debris up completion
  • Assist in navigating to sites to ensure the crew arrives in the safest and most expedient way possible
  • Work in a safe and productive manner, remaining constantly cognizant of site safety
  • Understand and comply with incident reporting protocols and case management
  • Ensure workplaces and company vehicles are clean and free of garbage and hazards
  • Act in a professional manner with fellow employees and customers
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Actively call a “safety time out” if an employee or the environment conditions result in an unsafe situation
