About The Position

Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, and the CD population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is currently searching for a Licensed Inpatient Lead Social Worker for our Social Services Department. The Inpatient SW Lead provides clinical leadership and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of behavioral health services and the efficient daily functioning of the department. Serves as a resource to therapists and interdisciplinary team members by supporting workflow, promoting quality and compliance, and assisting with staff training and development, and helping coordinate daily clinical and administrative operations, including patient flow, admissions, discharges, scheduling and caseload management. They also provide direct clinical services as assigned to support department operations, including but not limited to facilitating therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, providing crisis intervention, participating in treatment and discharge planning, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university with extensive experience in mental health and hospital setting;
  • Prefer LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Indiana;
  • Minimum of 1-3 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable;
  • Service Excellence mentality;
  • Knowledge of medical terminology;
  • CPI and CPR;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Professional, exercises good judgement;
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel and other software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group therapy for a group of 12-14 adults or youth with mental health conditions or substance use disorders, complete clinical documentation as required, crisis intervention and management.
  • Assisting with patient coverage, admissions, discharges, and other clinical responsibilities as operational needs require.
  • Supports day-to-day operational leadership via coordination of patient assignments, admissions, discharges, treatment teams, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership about operational issues and teamwork.
  • Performs administrative and operational duties as assigned to support departmental goals such as patient care delivery, regulatory compliance, and organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in staff performance improvement and coaching, onboarding and case consultation.
  • Assists with additional clinical, administrative, operational, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
