JPMorganChase•Jersey City, NJ

About The Position

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within Corporate Sector Enterprise Technology, Employee Platforms, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within infrastructure engineering. You use technical expertise and problem-solving methods across complex, cross-platform infrastructure initiatives, driving solutions from design through implementation and operational readiness. The External Collaboration Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on developing, integrating, and operating enterprise external collaboration platforms, particularly technologies that support secure partner engagement. Working across engineering, security, and business functions, the role ensures that platforms such as Virtual Data Rooms, Microsoft 365 B2B, Slack external organizations and shared channels, partner workflows, client portals, and Google Workspace are robust, compliant, and optimized for cross-company collaboration. The position provides technical leadership across these platforms by designing resilient solutions, establishing engineering patterns, managing external identity and access controls, onboarding SaaS platforms and capabilities, and driving complex issues through root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied infrastructure engineering experience, including demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures across Azure or AWS, serverless computing, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
  • Deep experience implementing enterprise identity and access patterns, including Single Sign-On using SAML 2.0 or OAuth 2.0/OIDC and secure authentication practices.
  • Strong experience in one or more infrastructure disciplines, including databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, observability, and performance assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in infrastructure engineering workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalate when appropriate, and ensure outcomes align with resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate across public and private cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and troubleshooting across multiple systems and influence engineering decisions across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building applications using modern development frameworks and languages such as Node.js, Java, Go, and C#/.NET.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT operations, change control, incident management, and production-readiness practices.
  • Experience engineering or operating enterprise SaaS and collaboration platforms in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working with third-party SaaS vendors and cross-functional security, risk, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or establishing reusable engineering standards and patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions across External Collaboration platforms, applying technical expertise to complex, cross-platform initiatives and ensuring end-to-end monitoring and operational readiness.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate monitoring, capacity analysis, and documentation; validate outputs and handle operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Own complex technical issues through resolution, determining remediation and escalation paths across engineering, security, vendor, and business teams.
  • Design and evaluate solutions across upstream and downstream systems, considering integration, identity, security, resiliency, performance, and operational implications.
  • Lead technical activities supporting platform capacity, reliability, and operational health; partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify risks and drive remediation.
  • Make significant technical decisions across initiatives spanning multiple technologies, applications, and external SaaS platforms.
  • Apply reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches to identify recurring risks and improve engineering and remediation workflows, validating changes against resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and partner teams, establish engineering patterns, and promote consistency across the External Collaboration platform portfolio.
