About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to support a Department of Defense enterprise program delivering critical IT capabilities and services. The role is based at Fort Meade, Maryland, and supports mission-critical work for the Nation’s security and intelligence mission. The engineer leads a three-person team and coordinates physical infrastructure work with technicians, engineering teams, facilities personnel, and network architects. The position combines hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical IT infrastructure with site surveys, planning, documentation, operational process management, and team direction. Work includes supporting development, pre-production, and production environments; partner-managed facilities; and new site deployments from initial survey through operational handoff. The employee works daily in a SCIF, performs hands-on work in data centers, and travels as needed for surveys and installations. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or additional years of experience in place of the degree, ten years of relevant deployment experience, seven years managing IT facility infrastructure as a manager or technical lead, and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. The regular schedule is eight hours per day, Monday through Friday. The role must also be able to support non-standard hours, including a minimal on-call rotation and availability during deployment surges and maintenance windows, and travel up to 20%. Compensation is listed at $190,000–$230,000. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and holidays; retirement benefits including 401(k) matching; educational reimbursement; parental leave; employee stock purchase plan; tax-saving options; disability and life insurance; and pet insurance.
