About The Position

The Gardner School is seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Infant Teacher for their Louisville, KY location. This role involves leading a classroom with creativity, care, and excellence, mentoring assistant teachers, building relationships with families and children, and planning engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons. The position requires maintaining a safe, compliant, and joyful classroom environment. The Gardner School is a premier preschool with state-of-the-art classrooms and a dynamic curriculum, aiming to foster confident, joyful learners.

Requirements

  • Meet state licensing requirements for education and experience (Required)
  • Associate's degree or CDA required
  • Meets all Kentucky state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
  • Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
  • Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
  • Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies.
  • Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
  • Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
  • Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Kentucky state licensing regulations
  • Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
  • Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values

Nice To Haves

  • BS or BA degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education or related degree preferred
