Mountain Air Mechanical Contractors is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer to oversee residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects throughout the Arden, NC area. Requirements

  • 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience preferred
  • Previous experience leading installation crews or mentoring team members is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, installation practices, and duct design
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications
  • EPA Certification required (Universal preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to safely lift 75+ pounds and work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including background check and drug screening, where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complete HVAC system installations from start to finish while leading and mentoring Install Assistants and junior technicians.
  • Lead residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects
  • Install and replace furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, air handlers, mini-split systems, ductwork, thermostats, zoning systems, and indoor air quality products
  • Read and interpret installation plans, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications
  • Ensure installations comply with all local building codes, manufacturer guidelines, and company quality standards
  • Manage daily jobsite workflow, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Train, mentor, and develop Install Assistants and newer installers through hands-on coaching
  • Perform system start-up, testing, commissioning, and performance verification
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary field adjustments
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding installation progress, system operation, and maintenance recommendations
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, material usage, and installation records
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA and company safety standards
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects Mountain Air's commitment to excellence
