About The Position

This is a full-time, direct placement for a local mechanical contractor. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC and related equipment as assigned in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner. The position also involves keeping technical knowledge up-to-date regarding equipment, concepts, installation techniques, and codes, participating in continuing education, and improving technical knowledge through technical organizations. The role requires demonstrating capability in handling a heavy workload, performing thorough inspections to prevent callbacks, maintaining job site cleanliness, and adhering to quality workmanship standards. Effective time management and planning are essential, including informing the service manager of work completion needs, accurately determining job priorities, adhering to planned call schedules, scheduling report time, handling interruptions, ensuring proper tools and materials are available, and scheduling vehicle maintenance. Communication is key, involving prompt and accurate completion of paperwork, securing customer satisfaction, keeping management informed of customer changes, and communicating beneficial information. The role also includes promoting the company professionally, identifying opportunities for better customer service and potential new customers, learning IAQ product features and benefits, and instructing others. Special projects may be assigned by the service manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all of the duties below with little or no assistance: Lifting (up to 100 lbs as needed).
  • Bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, balancing, kneeling, twisting, and/or standing.
  • Ability to work overhead and from ladders.
  • Setting up and carrying ladders up to 28 ft. in height (step or extensions), as required.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders.

  • Providing support for any special projects as assigned by the service manager.
