About The Position

The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for the daily housekeeping operations within sites/facilities, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas. The Lead Housekeeper provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • 1+ years as a Housekeeper or similar position
  • Prior experience managing and leading a team
  • Knowledge and understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate command of computer hardware/software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • May operate mechanical and electrical equipment (i.e. vacuum, mops, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Able to work under pressure, maintain composure and utilize good judgment during emergency/difficult and stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time
  • Ability to crawl in small and tight spaces
  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs
  • Ability to stoop and bend
  • Extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitor.

  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings is required to meet the job functions.

  • Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms
  • May be required to perform work outdoors during all seasons
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level.
  • Ability to hear, understand and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone.
  • Visual ability correctable to 20/20.
  • Ability to respond verbally in an understandable, professional manner in person and over the telephone.
  • May be required to travel for training sessions off-site
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical cleaning tasks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent situations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the night housekeeping team during the shift.
  • Assign daily work and ensure all scheduled tasks are completed.
  • Inspect cleaned areas to ensure they meet company cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency cleaning requests and unexpected situations.
  • Ensure all restrooms, common areas, fitness centers, pools, and amenity spaces are clean and ready for the next day.
  • Train and coach new team members on proper cleaning procedures and safety practices.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and employee performance.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply shortages to management.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; restock as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is used safely and stored properly at the end of the shift.
  • Complete shift reports and communicate important updates to the day management team.
  • Lock and secure designated areas according to company procedures.
  • Assist with room setups, special events, and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Lead by example by maintaining a positive attitude, professionalism, and high-quality work standards.
  • Ensure all company policies, OSHA guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
