About The Position

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte (CTC) is seeking an extremely confident, personable, reliable, and kind individual to serve as the Lead House Manager. This role is the front-line ambassador to every patron and a guide for front of house staff and volunteers. The Lead House Manager will take command of the front of house, ensuring audiences have a safe, relaxed, and pleasant experience from arrival to the end of the show. This position involves close collaboration with Stage Managers, Volunteer Ushers, Security, and Library Staff to ensure seamless front-of-house operations. The role offers opportunities for professional growth, including mastering the AudienceView ticketing system, handling administrative duties, and cross-training for Box Office coverage to secure additional hours during peak season.

  • Must be available for weekend performances (Saturdays and Sundays, generally 9:30 am to 5:30 pm) and occasional Friday nights (generally 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm).

Responsibilities

  • Own the front-of-house experience for weekend and Friday evening performances.
  • Lead and coordinate volunteer ushers, setting the tone for warm, attentive service.
  • Partner with Stage Managers to coordinate house open and curtain times.
  • Serve as the go-to problem-solver for anything that comes up — a lost ticket, a big group of patrons, an unexpected hiccup — and handle it with grace.
  • Ensure the theatre is safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for every patron, every time.
  • Act as the face and voice of Children's Theatre of Charlotte for our audiences.
  • Master AudienceView, our ticketing system.
  • Handle various administrative duties.
  • Cross-train for Box Office coverage.
