About The Position

We are a busy, creative household with a lot of energy and heart, seeking a Part-Time House Manager to help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, works independently, and can become part of the rhythm of our home. This role involves supporting the family with school pickups, light supervision, household organization, meal preparation, laundry, errands, and administrative tasks. We value strong commitment to family privacy and discretion, with no social media content featuring the family or household. Experience in nannying, hospitality, or admin roles is beneficial.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable personal transportation required.
  • Up-to-date on general vaccinations per CDC guidelines.
  • Comfortable signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Strong commitment to family privacy, including no social media content featuring the home, family members, or any identifying details.
  • Show up as a self-starter who takes initiative without being asked and spots what needs to be done before it becomes a problem.
  • Work independently and without micromanagement.
  • Communicate openly and professionally about household needs.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to privacy and discretion, especially around children, the home, and the family's public presence.
  • Bring a proactive, organized mindset and can work from a list or create one when needed.
  • Adapt easily to a dynamic household where the schedule and priorities can shift from week to week.
  • Handle sensitive information with maturity and are fully comfortable signing an NDA.
  • Bring experience from nannying, hospitality, or admin roles and can translate those transferable skills into house management.
  • Follow household dietary needs: tree nut allergy (parent) and rice allergy for the daughter.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily resets and prep the home for cleaning service visits.
  • Maintain and improve household organization systems.
  • Handle seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and decor.
  • Coordinate and prepare donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
  • Handle small home maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checks.
  • Clean out the family vehicle and arrange car washes as needed.
  • Prepare 2–3 dinners per week (slow cooker and one-pan meals preferred).
  • Wash, chop, and prep fresh fruits and vegetables for snacking and meals.
  • Grocery shop on a week-to-week basis in collaboration with the family.
  • Handle kitchen cleanup and general kitchen maintenance.
  • Perform full laundry cycle: wash, fold, organize, and put away family laundry.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Handle Amazon, Costco, and Target orders and returns.
  • Manage mail and package handling; break down boxes.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans including fridge, oven, baseboards, garage, and mudroom.
  • Assist with large organizational projects such as toys and gear.
  • Refresh entry areas and high-traffic spaces as needed.
  • Let the dog in and out throughout the day.
  • Provide occasional walks for the dog as needed.
  • Maintain pet supplies.
  • Manage and maintain access to the family calendar, including household and school schedules.
  • Serve as point of contact for contractors and vendors when the family is unavailable.
  • Assist with event and appointment coordination as needed.
  • School pickups approximately 2x per week; ad hoc after-school drop-offs as needed.
  • Light supervision and occasional backup childcare.
  • Prep backpacks, snacks, and clothing for school days.
  • Handle kid-related errands as they come up.
  • Occasional date night coverage approximately once a month.
