About The Position

Homewood is seeking a Lead Gondola Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department. Lead Gondola Operators are responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operation of their assigned chairlifts. This position plays an essential role in delivering a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lift Operator.
  • Strong ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and provide direction in a fast-paced operating environment.
  • Responsible for guest safety and preventing injury; ability to identify and address potential hazards.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is required.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Gondola loading and unloading areas are free of ice/debris, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
  • Lead the team and delegate tasks when necessary.
  • Set up proper mazes depending on the demand for the day.
  • Periodically check the maze to ensure it is still up to par.
  • Maintain a focused, safety-oriented approach while efficiently loading and unloading passengers in Gondola cabins.
  • Actively engage with all guests to load their equipment in the racks for them.
  • Repetitive motions while loading skis, snowboards and bicycles.
  • Provide additional assistance to children, guests with mobility needs, and others who request or require support.
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
