About The Position

Homewood is seeking a Gondola Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department. Gondola Operators are responsible for the safe operation, loading, riding and unloading of the gondola. This position plays an essential role in delivering a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow gondola loading and unloading procedures and established safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Gondola loading and unloading areas are free of ice/debris, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
  • Set up proper mazes depending on the demand for the day.
  • Periodically check the maze to ensure it is still up to par.
  • Remain engaged, attentive, and focused while safely loading and unloading guests from gondola cabins.
  • Provide exceptional guest service while assisting with the loading and unloading of skis, snowboards, bicycles, and other equipment.
  • Perform repetitive motions associated with loading and handling guest equipment.
  • Provide additional assistance to children, guests with accessibility needs, or anyone requiring extra support.
  • Snow removal as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
