About The Position

ServiceSource is seeking a Lead Floor Care Specialist to perform advanced custodial floor care services for the INSCOM contract at Fort Belvoir. This role involves maintaining approximately 635,000 square feet across four buildings, including controlled-access and classified environments. The primary work window is typically evenings (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), with flexibility for day support, periodic project work, and occasional weekend restorative cleaning. The specialist is responsible for adhering to floor care schedules and quality standards for various floor types, safely operating and maintaining specialized equipment, and obtaining necessary security clearances. The role operates within ServiceSource’s standardized FY27 Custodial Operating Plan, aligning with quality control, training, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required; ability to meet all applicable access, badging, SCIF, OPSEC, and NISPOM-related requirements.
  • One (1) year of floor care experience required.
  • Knowledge of commercial floor care methods, equipment, chemicals, finishes, and safe application techniques.
  • Knowledge of SDS/MSDS requirements and the ability to read and understand product labels, dilution instructions, and operating guides.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute floor care projects to schedule in occupied and controlled environments.
  • Strong commitment to floor appearance, service quality, safety, and accountability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with supervisors regarding work completion, safety controls, and issues requiring action.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under time-sensitive conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) year of janitorial/custodial experience preferred.
  • Experience with commercial floor machines and restorative floor processes strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting federal, military, secure, or high-accountability facilities is preferred.
  • Baseline certification requirements per the FY27 Custodial Operating Plan Educational Pathway: ISSA/CMI Certified Cleaning Technician (CCT) – Basic; ISSA/CMI Hard Floor Care Certification; and ISSA/CMI Carpet Care Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care services such as stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, spray buffing, burnishing, shampooing, carpet extraction, spot treatment, and other restorative or periodic floor services in accordance with approved schedules and quality standards.
  • Prepare, stage, and safely execute floor care activities in occupied facilities to minimize disruption to foot traffic, mission operations, and access routes.
  • Operate burnishers, auto scrubbers, polishers, extractors, wet vacuums, and other specialized floor care machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidance, training, and contract requirements.
  • Inspect finished work for appearance, cleanliness, and safety; correct deficiencies as needed; and communicate completion status to supervisory staff.
  • Perform walk-off mat maintenance, stairwell floor care, hard floor polishing, and annual/weekend restorative services as assigned.
  • Complete routine minor upkeep, cleaning, and operator-level maintenance of floor care equipment and report repair needs promptly.
  • Support cross-functional custodial duties when operationally required, including project cleaning and surge response tasks.
  • Complete task training using visual aids, equipment guides, and chemical charts, and successfully demonstrate role-critical tasks through supervisory observation and checklist sign-off.
  • Perform work in accordance with the ServiceSource QC SOP and related cleaning observation standards, and participate in refresher training when triggered by performance gaps, repeat deficiencies, new equipment/chemicals, or audit findings.
  • Adhere to work schedules and building-specific floor care plans to ensure contract frequencies and project windows are met.
  • Use wet-floor signs, barriers, and proper safety controls before, during, and after work to protect occupants and prevent incidents.
  • Maintain the security, cleanliness, and accountability of equipment, pads, chemicals, and supplies in designated storage areas.
  • Follow all access, escort, badge, OPSEC, and classified environment rules while working in or near SCIF and non-SCIF spaces.
  • Report completed work, floor conditions, equipment issues, access constraints, and any customer-impacting concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Participate in the standardized onboarding process, including review of corporate, operational, and site-specific custodial policies, procedures, and SOPs through an Intake Binder and position-specific onboarding schedule.
  • Support zero-fail adoption expectations for required training, QC processes, safety procedures, and other controlled operational documents applicable to the position.
  • Comply with corporate, operational, and site-specific custodial policies, procedures, and SOPs, including BBP, CleanCheck/CompuClean systems and standards, the QC Plan, QC SOP training, and applicable safety procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
