Floor Care Specialists play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and professional environments for our customers and community partners. Through quality floor care, cleaning services, and attention to detail, you help ensure facilities remain welcoming, sanitary, and well-maintained. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to consistently meet expectations.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to represent ARC Voyagers professionally when interacting with customers and community partners.
  • Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks.
  • Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and insurability standards.
  • Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire.
  • Must pass a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of cleaning, janitorial, floor care, or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning services that meet contract specifications and customer expectations, helping create welcoming environments every day.
  • Maintain hard surface and carpeted flooring through buffing, top coating, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, carpet extraction, and other approved floor care methods.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, public areas, offices, stairwells, elevators, lobbies, garages, and other facility spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Safely use floor scrubbers, wet vacuums, carpet extractors, buffers, and other specialized cleaning equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Spot clean carpets, furniture, glass surfaces, water fountains, and other facility areas to maintain a high standard of appearance.
  • Adhere to all required safety protocols, PPE requirements, hazard communication standards, and cleaning procedures.
  • Help secure buildings and work areas, turn off lights at the end of shifts, and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Complete reports, communicate maintenance needs, and help ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
