About The Position

This is a hybrid position where the selected candidate will come into the Boston, MA office two times/week. The Lead Financial Analyst will manage the Rolling Forecast model, which is vital to the team’s success. This role involves continuously updating the in-force portfolio premium, producing KPIs, and initiating planning. The analyst will work directly and constantly with Product Managers, while staying in tune with the LMRe Global Underwriting community and performance. The tool supports Forecast deliverables to GRS and Corporate. The role also includes co-managing the US Reinsurance legal entity affiliate portfolio, a book of +$1B of annual premium, working with LMIE and Liberty Syndicate teams regularly to ensure timeliness and accuracy of results. There is potential to contribute to Third Party Capital demands and gain understanding of products written by the different LMRe entities and how risk appetites may differ. The analyst will work directly with the Controller on Expense reporting, analytics and budgeting, owning most of Expense related responsibilities while interacting with Expense personnel of various teams in various countries. Functions necessary to submit monthly financial results for the team’s entity and classes will be performed, utilizing understanding of multiple systems and platforms (SAP, BI, BPC, URS, GEAC, Essbase, ARMMS, ARCS, GQL, PwrBI dashboards) to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The Quarterly Schedule P process will be managed, gaining exposure to actuarial teams and concepts, and directly impacting the quality of LMIC results by utilizing various analytics applied across multiple measurements. Contribution to the strong Controls environment of the team, including participation in Attestation and audits, and leading discussions and reviews, is expected. High involvement in OneGL is also a key aspect, including ensuring the LMRe US’s unique perspective is understood by decision makers regarding design and strategy, as well as testing and other such tasks. The role represents the needs of the only US Assumed RI team that is uniquely also part of the LII OneGL path.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
