bp is committed to investing in lower carbon energy so we can meet our ambition to reach net zero by 2050. And while we’re still mostly in oil and gas today, bioenergy is one of our five transition growth engines and a key focus to help us support the global energy transition. Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. The Lead Field Safety Manager is a Senior level field based leadership role and primary safety compliance contact for 10+ facilities or operational sites. Responsible for elevating safety performance, operational discipline, and risk management across the Archaea organization and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and industry safety regulations and standards. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures; conducting inspections; supporting hazard analysis, incident investigations, and safety training; and promoting a proactive safety culture. Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in key health and safety disciplines, this role ensures the organization’s safety programs align with federal, state, and industry best practices. While the role does not include direct reports, it influences safety performance and culture through mentorship, advice, and cross-functional collaboration. The Lead Manager works independently within a broad scope, mentoring regional safety managers, shaping safety policies, and proactively identifying safety risks and improvement opportunities.
