About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Safety Lead to support the WEXMAC Camp East Montana contract in El Paso, TX. The Safety Lead will develop, implement, manage, and maintain the Amentum field and office EHS program and occupational safety and health regulations in regional operations. This role involves serving as a site-level quality liaison, implementing best practices for quality assurance, and integrating ES&H programs into the QMS. The position also directs Six Sigma training and implementation, prepares functional area reports, and ensures compliance with AS-9110 standards. The Safety Lead will empower the workforce with stop work authority for quality breaches and provide guidance on related disciplines, while also seeking and institutionalizing best practices and developing site-specific process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related experience.
  • Certification on either the OSHA 30-hour Construction or OSHA 30-hour for General Industry is required.
  • Other formal safety certification such as the Occupational Safety and Health Technologist (OSHT) will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of the National Detention Standard 2025 and Detention Facility Security Operations.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate the requirements of the HSE Program.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to continuously improve site EHS processes.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access & Power Point.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a site level quality liaison with the Regional Quality Office and ensure consistent practices and deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Implement site and program level sponsored best practices for quality assurance processes; develop and utilize benchmark-based metrics, and develop & maintain reporting on these measures to ensure continuous improvement and provide needed information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Quality Manager to develop, implement and sustain a behavioral quality-based program.
  • Enforce, and provide updates to the QC plans to drive performance using AS-9110 and 14001 standards across the assigned program.
  • Provide oversight of ES&H Programs and integrate them into the QMS.
  • Direct Six Sigma training and implementation.
  • Prepare and submit functional area reports as directed by the Regional Quality Office.
  • Ensure compliance with AS-9110 standards.
  • Empower workforce with stop work authority for quality breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and provide guidance on related disciplines.
  • Seek, share and assist in institutionalizing best practices.
  • Develops and implements site-specific process improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and track progress toward meeting the goals and objectives of process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures operational personnel comply with established and applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the identification and implementation of all continuous process improvement activities.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
