About The Position

This position will be based onsite in Shackleford County, TX. The Lead Facility Technician serves as the senior technical resource and daily operational lead for facility management activities supporting assigned data center facilities. This role is responsible for coordinating building maintenance activities, overseeing contractor performance, supporting customer requests, conducting facility inspections, and ensuring operational readiness of assigned buildings and customer facing spaces. Working under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Lead Facility Technician provides field leadership for Facility Technicians and contracted service providers responsible for maintaining common areas, office spaces, exterior grounds, building systems, and customer support areas. This individual serves as the primary escalation point for day -to-day facility issues and helps coordinate corrective actions, maintenance activities, and vendor response efforts. The Lead Facility Technician partners closely with Site Operations, Construction, Security, Engineering, IT, Leasing, Asset Management, and Vendor Management teams to ensure facility-related work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This role requires a strong understanding of building systems, vendor management, customer support, and facility operations, along with the ability to execute maintenance and repair activities safely, efficiently, and without disrupting customer operations. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years , 7+ years preferred, of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, mission-critical operations, commercial property operations, industrial maintenance, or data center environments.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience providing work direction, mentoring, team leadership, or supervisory support.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating contractors and service providers.
  • Strong understanding of facility maintenance practices and building operations.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, building automation systems, and general building infrastructure.
  • Experience conducting facility inspections and identifying maintenance deficiencies.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing operational demands.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS platforms, work order systems, and maintenance documentation processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
  • Reliable transportation for reporting to work for shifts, or emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical certification, trade certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Data center or mission critical facilities experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple ongoing facility maintenance, repair, and operational support activities.
  • Provide day -to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Facility Technicians and contracted service providers.
  • Respond to operational issues, safety concerns, and emergency situations while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • Exercise sound judgment when prioritizing work activities and adapting to changing operational and customer needs.
  • Frequently interact with customers, vendors, contractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Support the Facility Manager in maintaining operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and facility performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and customer service.
  • Coordinate daily facility operations, maintenance activities, and vendor work across assigned facilities.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings, common areas, customer facing spaces, office areas, building structures , and exterior grounds to identify maintenance, quality, and safety concerns.
  • Coordinate and monitor corrective maintenance, warranty repairs, and facility improvement activities.
  • Serve as the primary field escalation point for facility related operational issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Support customer requests, move ins, expansions, equipment installations, and other facility related operational activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee service providers including janitorial, landscaping, pest control, building maintenance, and specialty contractors.
  • Review and monitor work orders within the CMMS to ensure timely completion, quality workmanship, and proper documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and on the job training to Facility Technicians.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of facility operating procedures, inspection programs, and maintenance standards.
  • Maintain facility records, inspection reports, maintenance documentation, and operational metrics.
  • Support emergency response activities involving facility infrastructure, building systems, and customer support spaces.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility operations, maintenance processes, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.
