About The Position

This person will support maintenance mechanics and facilities staff by performing “handyman” maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup. They will work with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs. Operate site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary. May perform other activities such as audio-visual (AV) set up for meetings or conferences, inter-office mail deliveries, wastepaper recycling, and stocking of employee break areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform complex maintenance tasks for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, machining and general mechanical skills.
  • Skills to install and troubleshoot industrial electrical and utility systems.
  • Ability to perform complex plumbing repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
  • A certification, licensure, or completed a journeyman ship for at least one general skilled trade.
  • Verbal and Written skills to obtain and provide results.
  • Ability to present results/content to customers (internal or external) and/or others.
  • Effective use of appropriate tools.
  • A high degree of knowledge and skills as a general tradesman in the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC trades.
  • Understanding complex facilities maintenance activities and general maintenance tradesman skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area.
  • Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience may include managing office operations, advanced support skills, and extensive knowledge of tools, software, and other technologies.
