About The Position

Bobrick is hiring a Lead Facilities & Maintenance Mechanic based at its North Hollywood headquarters. This experienced technical lead is responsible for the reliability, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, building systems, and critical utilities. The role combines advanced hands-on maintenance capabilities with facilities engineering knowledge across electrical distribution, HVAC and mechanical systems, controls, automation, compressed air, fire-life-safety systems, and other critical facility assets. The position provides day-to-day technical leadership to maintenance personnel, helping prioritize work, resolve complex technical issues, improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and coordinate vendors and engineering resources. It also supports facility upgrades, equipment installations, infrastructure improvements, and capital projects. There are no formal direct reports, but the position is responsible for daily work coordination, technical direction, work-order follow-up, training, and escalation. The role is onsite in North Hollywood, California, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed based on business demands. The stated pay range is $42.00 to $53.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated experience with manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, electrical distribution, HVAC and mechanical systems, controls and automation, and critical utilities.
Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, control drawings, panel layouts, equipment and construction drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to provide direction, coaching, feedback, and hands-on support to maintenance personnel.
Advanced troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills across manufacturing equipment, controls, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, technical coordination, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to balance urgent production needs, critical facility infrastructure, preventive maintenance, reliability priorities, project work, vendor coordination, and safety requirements.
Ability to prepare clear work-order notes, maintenance records, technical documentation, vendor updates, and status reports.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other commonly used Microsoft 365 tools.
Ability to communicate effectively and work with management, production, engineering, quality, contractors, vendors, and technical support resources.

Nice To Haves

Technical school, trade certification, associate degree, facilities engineering coursework, or equivalent advanced technical training.
At least eight years of progressively responsible experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, facility maintenance, facilities engineering, or a related technical field; listed as preferred.
Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing reliability, preventive maintenance, or equipment lifecycle improvements.
Experience supporting facility upgrades, equipment installations, commissioning, major repairs, capital projects, and contractor coordination.
Prior technical leadership, mentoring, senior technician, or lead experience.
Relevant maintenance, electrical, HVAC, controls, OSHA, reliability, or facilities-related certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on technical leadership to maintenance technicians by assigning and prioritizing daily work, reviewing open work orders, and following up on completion.
Serve as the first point of technical support for maintenance personnel and help coordinate responses to urgent production and facility issues.
Support the Supervisor in balancing preventive maintenance, production repairs, facility needs, safety-related work, vendor support, and other department priorities.
Lead and support preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring work is safe, timely, and properly documented.
Review and improve preventive maintenance procedures, frequencies, spare-parts requirements, and maintenance strategies based on equipment history and reliability needs.
Conduct root cause analysis of recurring equipment and facility failures and recommend long-term corrective actions.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs and support reliability improvements for manufacturing equipment, critical utilities, and facility infrastructure involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, controls, and automation systems.
Maintain and evaluate facility systems, including HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, lighting and building controls, plumbing, access control, generators, dust collectors, doors, gates, compressed air, and fire-life-safety infrastructure.
Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems within authorized work practices.
Evaluate HVAC and mechanical building systems, including air-handling and exhaust equipment, pumps, motors, controls, and associated infrastructure, and coordinate specialized service when required.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and building control systems, including PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, safety circuits, and building management or control interfaces.
Interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, control drawings, panel layouts, PLC I/O documentation, construction drawings, technical specifications, and vendor documentation to support troubleshooting, repairs, and facility projects.
Identify infrastructure deficiencies, reliability risks, capacity concerns, recurring failures, and opportunities for equipment or facility improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
Support reliability and lifecycle planning for critical manufacturing and facility assets, including identifying critical spare parts and repair-versus-replacement considerations.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, technical support, engineering, production, and other departments to support repairs, equipment downtime, and service activities.
Obtain quotes, identify parts, research technical information, and follow up on ordered parts or service scheduling as needed.
Provide guidance, coaching, and hands-on training to maintenance technicians and reinforce safe work practices, lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and department standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and review mechanic work-order documentation for completeness, clarity, and required follow-up.
Support facility and equipment projects by developing scopes of work and technical requirements and reviewing vendor proposals, equipment selections, installation plans, and contractor submittals.
Participate in equipment and facility system installation, commissioning, functional testing, startup, turnover, and documentation.
