About The Position

We are seeking a Lead Extreme Family Finding Advocate to join our team. Your role plays a crucial role in ensuring foster care youth maintain lifelong connections with their family, community, and culture. You will focus on identifying, locating, and engaging extended family, kin, non-related kin, and members of the community to create safe, nurturing, and permanent networks for foster care youth. The Family Finding Advocate Team is responsible for carrying out thoughtful, thorough, and innovative searches of relative and non-related kinship for support and placement of all the children being served in the KS FCCM program. As a member of the KS Foster Care team, you will work with other team members and report to our Manager of Family Finding.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in child and family services
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or other human services related field is required.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Pass background check, physical, and drug screening
  • A valid driver’s license in the state you reside in
  • Proof of current vehicle insurance
  • Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work or other human services related field and licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend court hearings as needed.
  • Participate in PS-TDM’s to prevent movement of children from the relative/kin home.
  • Participate in TDM’s, as assigned.
  • Complete timely background checks (i.e. KBI, CANIS, out of state etc.).
  • Complete timely walkthroughs, paperwork, and documentation.
  • Conduct in-person walkthroughs and home visits as assigned.
  • Analyze barriers and problem solve.
