This role works individually with patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting under the direction of clinical staff. The Peer/Family Advocate Lead provides services that empower individuals who receive mental health (MH), substance use disorder (SUD), and/or co-occurring disorder (COD) services to regain personal control over their lives and their recovery process. They serve as a role model for patients, helping them learn to engage in recovery-oriented activities and integrate into the community. This position reports directly to the Sup, Substance Use Counselor and is tasked with orientation and onboarding of new peer bridger staff, assisting with the peer bridger referral tracker, developing the peer newsletter, participating in the interviewing and hiring process, training and providing supervision to peer interns, and other lead responsibilities.
