About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Applications, the Lead Epic Analyst will serve as a liaison between user departments/offices and software vendors, and will lead a team of analysts and support team members, providing exceptional customer service and open lines of communication. The Lead Epic Analyst is responsible for leading the team in managing necessary tables and parameters to ensure smooth operations of assigned systems. The Lead Epic Analyst will lead their team in implementing and maintaining various physician and clinical applications & workflows for both internal and external users at Jupiter Medical Center, Inc. The lead must possess strong organizational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. The role involves leading, assigning, and monitoring the workload of assigned team members, evaluating team performance, and providing guidance. The Lead Epic Analyst will anticipate, identify, and define problems, participate in root cause analysis, and provide input in design, testing, build changes, and upgrades. They must remain calm in difficult situations, assist in developing best practices workflows, and conduct routine audits and assessments of EHR utilization through direct observation and data analytic tools, making recommendations to leadership. The role also includes conducting ad-hoc training and mentoring, building and maintaining relationships with team members, medical staff, and physician practices, participating on the change advisory board, and participating in an on-call rotation. The Lead Epic Analyst will effectively use and role model current leadership techniques and theories, encouraging decision-making skills of staff members and providing insight and leadership in complex situations. They will ensure that information disseminated to staff is monitored for effectiveness and changed as needed, and will understand and enforce hospital and personnel policies and procedures. The role may involve serving on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams, and work groups as requested, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare or IT related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience and working in healthcare information services department with extensive knowledge of clinical facing systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of information systems and personal computers needed.
  • Epic certification required.
  • Prior analyst experience working with scheduling and registration systems.
  • Work history/knowledge of scheduling and registration operations.
  • Work history in a Healthcare IT required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, use of computer and other telecommunication devices.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, and be capable of critical thinking, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years preferred experience.
  • Prior experience with Epic’s Cadence and Prelude modules a plus.
  • Knowledge of the operational practices of scheduling and payer authorization, including nuances of provider schedules within an organization, scheduling practices for certain types of visits, and how these practices relate to the medical record flow for appointments.
  • Knowledge of areas that integrate with Cadence, including check-in, registration, benefits, referrals, PCP assignment and orders.
