The Lead Engineering Technologist will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS). This role provides technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects for multiple generation technologies across multiple geographic regions. The Lead Engineering Technologist is at the highest level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. Lead Engineering Technologists provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and utilize the leadership skills necessary to support others in technical areas of specialization, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for un-reviewed work. The Lead Engineering Technologist - DCS SME will provide technical support for control systems at coal, natural gas, solar and bulk energy storage generation facilities. The SME will work with plant operations and maintenance personnel to support equipment troubleshooting and coordinate communication with external DCS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support groups. The SME will also coordinate communication of fleet level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel and act as the owner of fleet level standards, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, OR 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, OR 10+ years equivalent experience without a degree.

Responsibilities
