This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS), providing technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects across multiple generation technologies and geographic regions. The Lead Engineering Technologist is the highest level non-Engineer degreed technical support role, offering technical expertise to solve complex problems and utilizing leadership skills to support others in technical areas of specialization with minimal supervision. The SME will support control systems at coal, natural gas, solar, and bulk energy storage generation facilities, working with plant operations and maintenance personnel for equipment troubleshooting. This role also involves coordinating communication with external DCS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support groups and communicating fleet-level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel, acting as the owner of fleet-level standards, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
10+ years equivalent experience without a degree
Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects for multiple generation technologies across multiple geographic regions.
Provide technical support for control systems at coal, natural gas, solar and bulk energy storage generation facilities.
Work with plant operations and maintenance personnel to support equipment troubleshooting.
Coordinate communication with external DCS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support groups.
Coordinate communication of fleet level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel.
Act as owner of fleet level standards, practices, and procedures.
