The Lead Engineering Technologist will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS), providing technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects across multiple generation technologies and geographic regions. This role is at the highest level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support job classification, requiring technical expertise to solve complex problems with minimal supervision and increased latitude for un-reviewed work. The SME will support control systems at coal, natural gas, solar, and bulk energy storage generation facilities, working with plant operations and maintenance personnel, coordinating communication with external DCS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support groups, and communicating fleet-level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel. The DCS SME acts as the owner of fleet-level standards, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, OR 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, OR 10+ years equivalent experience without a degree.
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects for multiple generation technologies across multiple geographic regions.
  • Provide technical support for control systems at coal, natural gas, solar and bulk energy storage generation facilities.
  • Work with plant operations and maintenance personnel to support equipment troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate communication with external DCS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support groups.
  • Coordinate communication of fleet level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel.
  • Act as owner of fleet level standards, practices, and procedures.
