About The Position

The role of the Lead Engineer is to maintain heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs. This role also involves assisting in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of maintenance staff, as well as planning their activities and conducting spot checks. The Lead Engineer will respond to all emergency conditions, replace filters, bearings, and repair motors and shafts as needed. They will operate, maintain, and repair boilers to provide heating throughout the hotel. This position ensures the proper execution of the work order/request system, including scheduling, ordering, and initiating projects. The Lead Engineer prepares requisitions for purchase and work orders, liaising with the Director of Purchasing. In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director of Engineering, they will act as department leadership. They will implement and perform preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules throughout Front and Back of House to ensure an efficient department. The role includes maintaining rooms in optimal operating condition through required repairs and undertaking any duties outside the hotel building or grounds as needed to maintain property standards.

Requirements

  • Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance.
  • Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment.
  • Work authorization in the United States required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Trade school in mechanics, refrigeration etc.
  • Universal EPA Trade license
  • Maintenance Technician Certification or BOMI SMT certification
  • Two to five years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.
  • Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
  • Replace filters, bearings and repair motors and shafts, as and when necessary.
  • Operate, maintain and repair boilers to provide desired heating throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary. This is to include scheduling, ordering, and initiating projects.
  • Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.
  • In absence of DOE and ADOE, act as department leadership in ensuring departmental operation.
  • Implement + perform preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules throughout Front and Back of House to ensure an efficient department.
  • Maintain rooms in optimal operating condition, by performing repairs as required.
  • Undertake any duties required outside the hotel building, in the hotel grounds, as required, to ensure that all areas of the property are maintained to the required standard.
