About The Position

As a Lead Engineer, you will provide leadership and senior-level engineering and technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems. You will help ensure the team meets client quality requirements and schedule deadlines while fostering an engaged environment where team members’ input is valued. The role is hands-on and includes managing, preparing, reviewing, or providing guidance on line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, clearance checks, plan and profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and construction support. You will supervise and develop a team, manage project delivery, review engineering submittals, build client relationships, and estimate projects and develop proposals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
10+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry.
Extensive experience using PLS-CADD.
Extensive experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI.
Extensive experience liaising with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
Deep understanding of industry standards and methods for engineering, procurement, and construction.
Strong project management skills and experience.
Ability to work safely and always obey safety regulations.
Ability to thrive as a self-starter in an unstructured, varied, deadline-driven work environment.
Strong leadership skills and ability to coach team members and provide project direction.
Ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry.
Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, both business and technical.
Must pass a drug screen and background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Manage, prepare, review, or provide guidance for PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, and clearance checks.
Manage, prepare, review, or provide guidance for plan/profile development and material specification and procurement.
Manage, prepare, review, or provide guidance for constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, and permitting.
Coordinate vendors and subcontractors and provide construction support.
Ensure client requirements, quality standards, and schedule deadlines are met.
