About The Position

The Lead Engineer, Applications Development analyzes complex system requirements, identifies program interactions and appropriate interfaces between components and subsystems. They make recommendations for developing new code or reusing existing code. This role leads or participates in assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance. The Lead Engineer may recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems, and exploiting opportunities, while staying current with new technologies. They participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Additionally, they provide technical advice, assist in solving programming problems, and write and/or review system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts. The role involves reviewing test results, documenting test activities, and recording remedial actions, ensuring proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage. Other duties and responsibilities are assigned as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering (any), or related.
Five (5) years in any occupation with development, engineering, or related experience.
Five (5) years in any occupation with development, engineering, or related experience must include: Developing Java based reliable and scalable enterprise web applications; Micro services architecture and enterprise integration design patterns; JavaScript, Typescript and functional programming; Java programming and object-oriented design and development; Scrum oriented Agile methodologies; Modern Front End UI development frameworks such as Angular, React; Relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server; Spring Framework; IBM MQ and JMS based Message Oriented Middleware; Cloud Computing and Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

Leads or participates in assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities.
Remains current with new technologies.
Participates in software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.
Provides technical advice and assists in solving programming problems.
Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
Reviews test results; documents test activities, and records remedial actions.
Ensures proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
