About The Position

The Lead – ELL (Hooks) (Internal Only) (SY26-27) position reports to the Building Principal in collaboration with District Coordinators/Directors. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and licensed ELL/MLE teacher with demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills. This role involves serving as a model classroom for effective instruction, planning and facilitating PLT sessions, professional development sessions, and PLCs, in addition to a full teaching load. The lead teacher will support school teachers, students, and leaders with best practices for educating multilingual learners (MLLs) and ensuring DESE compliance at the school level. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year.

Requirements

  • Experienced and licensed ELL/MLE teacher.
  • Demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
  • Ability to answer and support compliance questions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a model classroom for effective instruction.
  • Plan and facilitate PLT sessions, professional development sessions, and PLCs.
  • Support school teachers, students, and school leaders with best teaching practices for the education of multilingual learners (MLLs).
  • Support school teachers, students, and school leaders with DESE compliance at the school level.
  • Facilitate LAT and some PLTs.
  • Co-plan, model, and support grade level teams in modeling effective instruction to fulfill MLLs needs.
  • Support teacher planning/co-planning to implement SEI strategies.
  • Collaborate with District Coordinators and directors, as well as other coaches and principals.
  • Answer and support compliance questions.
  • Organize common and standardized assessments, timelines, and testing materials.
  • Collect data and lead teacher teams in analyzing assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Support the development of common assessments including ACCESS and implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks.
  • Plan faculty meetings, PD, and new teacher days as needed.
  • Participate as a team member of ILT and School Department PLC.
  • Additional duties as determined by the principal.
  • Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
