Lead Electrician - Generator Install

Rosso RecruitingNashville, TN
Onsite

About The Position

An opening for an experienced Lead Electrician to run a residential generator install crew in Nashville. This is a hands-on field role — you'll lead a three-person team through complete Generac generator installations, working from site assessment all the way through final testing and customer walkthrough. Your day starts at our Nashville warehouse each morning, where you'll load up and head out with your crew to the day's job site. Most installs are completed in a single day, and no two days look exactly alike — this role is a great fit for someone who likes variety, works well independently, and takes pride in doing the job right.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Comfortable leading a crew and working as part of a team.
  • Able to report to our Nashville warehouse early morning (typically around 6:30 AM).
  • Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and work-order software.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and working in attics, basements, and outdoor terrain.

Nice To Haves

  • Generac certification, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Prior residential generator installation or standby power experience.
  • Experience with automatic/manual transfer switches, load balancing, and panel work.

  • Assemble and install generator components — engines, alternators, exhaust, and fuel systems — per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Integrate generators with the appropriate fuel source (natural gas or propane) and ensure safe, efficient fuel delivery.
  • Test and commission each system to confirm reliable operation and automatic start during power outages.
  • Walk customers through the generator's operation, maintenance, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate installation records and complete required paperwork.
  • Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes on every job.
