About The Position

L3Harris in Palm Bay, Florida currently has an opening for a Power Supply Design Engineer. In this role, you will develop Power Supply circuits for data acquisition and computing systems. Responsibilities will include generation of specifications, component selection, power system architecture, simulation, analyses, support of PWB layout, and integration & verification testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance a plus
  • BSEE, Computer Engineering or other related technical field of study.
  • Knowledge of Miliary Standards including 461, 704 and 1275.
  • Hardware debugging skills & experience in operation of Signal Generator, Logic Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscopes
  • Ability to lead engineering design teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop isolated and non-isolated power conversion topologies including AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, battery chargers and power management circuits.
  • Perform requirements analysis and translate system needs into detailed power architecture and circuit designs
  • Conduct component selection and design trade studies for power semiconductors, magnetics, ICs, filters, and protection circuitry
  • Simulate and analyze power circuits for efficiency, thermal performance, control loop stability, EMI/EMC, and transient response
  • Develop schematics, support PCB layout, and ensure good design practices for high-current, high-voltage, and low-noise applications
  • Create and execute test plans for prototype bring-up, characterization, verification, and qualification
  • Troubleshoot power supply performance issues in the lab and support root cause and corrective action activities
  • Support compliance efforts related to safety, EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support production release, yield improvements, and failure analysis
  • Prepare technical documentation including design reports, analysis summaries, test procedures, and released engineering data
  • Support design reviews and provide technical leadership in power electronics development
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
