About The Position

The Lead EHV Transmission Line Engineer 2 leads transmission line design for projects ranging from 69kV to 765kV and serves as a subject matter specialist in 500kV and 765kV transmission lines. The role includes mentoring and training less experienced design team members, coordinating design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements, and preparing clear, concise technical reports and studies in accordance with client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats. The engineer independently reviews others’ calculations, drawings, and transmission line models developed in PLS-CADD, and adheres to Sargent & Lundy’s System of Processes.

This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work three days per week. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position. The compensation range is $134,546–$205,557, and eligible employees may also participate in a yearly discretionary bonus.

Requirements

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12 years of transmission design experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in 500kV and/or 765kV transmission line design.
• Familiarity with electrical considerations for 765kV transmission lines.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, developing conceptual designs, determining design basis, selecting equipment and materials, and preparing and assembling calculations and specifications.
• Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines from 69kV through 765kV.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

Responsibilities
